Good morning, I recd some information hand written before 1930. "Kelly says- he, Bertha several others are registered as 1/2 breed Indians and attorney at Sulpher, Okla has the records but the man is dead." also "John Wesley Barnett came from Ala to ky. He came with Indians on the Trail of Tears and is on the Dunber (or Dunbar) Roll at Admore, Okla." question : Is there a Dunber Roll in Ardmore? Is there a list of persons on the Trail of Tears? IS there a list of attornies for that time frame in Sulpher, OK? Can anyone help me on this, I live in CA. Thank you so very much Jean Brand Fresno CA

When I was in Grady County, OK Court House about three weeks ago, there were school records for Grady County going back in to the early 1900's on computers and then references for further information on the school records. I found some of my ancestors who were enrolled at Bailey School in 1923. Perhaps other counties have this too?? I was there in person for other records-marriage licenses, deeds, etc. Nell -----Original Message----- From: schnlm <schnlm@wac.com> To: OKROOTS-L@rootsweb.com <OKROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Thursday, June 14, 2001 12:36 PM Subject: [OKROOTS] Re: OKROOTS-D Digest V01 #118 >Hi, >Does anyone have a list of the students in schools in about 1920-30 & >teachers in Haskell Co. Dear List Members, This site was shared with me today and I am thrilled with it. If you have or might have ancestors who were from Virginia, you need to check this one out. Plan on spending some time. There is a lot of information. http://www.lva.lib.va.us/dlp/index.htm "The Library of Virginia's Digital Library Program (DLP) is an internationally recognized effort to preserve, digitize, and provide access to significant archival and library collections. I am real curious to know if any of your BARNETTS were ever in Alabama. I have been looking for my Alabama connection to Oklahoma for some time now and have found members of my EDWARDS family but no members that I can connect to my WORRELL or JOHNSON family. The WORRELL family in Alabama was closely allied with the BARNETTS and your names are very similar. I have in Perry County Alabama: William BARNETT 1807 TN married Tempe DUNKIN in 1830 Their son James BARNETT born 1845 married Martha CALDWELL From another family, that of Joel BARNETT, I have a descendant John Wesley BARNETT but no dates. His brother Lewis BARNETT was born 1882. I'm also trying to connect in Lamar County, Paris, TX and Fannin County, Honey Grove TX as well as Oklahoma with the WORRELL, EDWARDS, JOHNSON families and with the BARNETTS who were closely allied to this family. I just visited the BARNETT cemetery in Perry County AL this summer and found Lewis BARNETT's grave. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jean Brand <jbrand@sierratel.com> To: <OKROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 11, 2001 9:10 AM Subject: [OKROOTS] One wall came down Barnett and Johnson/Johnston > Anyone who can relate to this line please contact me. The new Tulsa Central High School address is 3101 West Edison in Tulsa, Ok 74127 and phone is 595-2000
According to the Tulsa World 6/6/2001 the governor has signed Senate Bill 45. This bill focuses on peeping Toms and those who desecrate graves. Both issues involve crimes that happened in Tulsa County within the past year. The bill makes it a misdemeanor to "destroy, mutilate, deface, injure or remove any tomb, monument or grave stone. The article didn't say anything about the owner of the property being able to descrate graves. The other part of the bill was about videotaping people without their knowledge.
You might try the Tulsa Co. Library phone book for those years which would list the phone and address. By using the address you could determine the school district. Will Rogers a new high school opened near Wilson Jr. High in apx 193?. The Tulsa Central Librayr will do look ups for you. If you would like to email me the info I could call them for you or I sometimes go down and could have a look. My granddaughter is about due for a visit to the Childrens Room. Of course you would need the parents name if you used the phone directory.
Also Central was moved to EAst Edison Street.
