Can some one tell me if there is a cemetery on SW 29th in Oklamoma City and if there is a listing of those buried there. Also is there a funeral home nearby. Thanks Bill Timmons [email protected]
Terry, I have posted this before, but maybe it's time to post it again. If you know the county where someone died, it's cheaper to call the funeral homes in the area, and ask for a funeral record. (With all the 10-10 numbers we can call now, it's cheaper than a stamp.)Almost any of them can tell you within 2 minutes if they were used for the funeral. If they were, they will send you a funeral record. It's free, but you should offer to send a SASE. There is a lot more info on the funeral record than there is on a death certificate. It even has a list of the survivors, and some of them have their addresses. The info for a death certificate is taken from the funeral record, so you can see you get a lot more. When you ask for a death certificate, your are charged $10 whether they find one or not. Penny Gardner mailto:[email protected]
Vital Records Section State Department of Health 1000 Northeast 10th Street PO Box 53551 Oklahoma City,OK 73152 Phone # 405-271-4040 The cost was $10.00 but you might call and make sure it hasn't changed. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Sunday, January 30, 2000 11:39 AM Subject: [OKROOTS] Death Certificates > Can somebody please advise the cost of obtaining a copy of > a death certificate in OK and where to write for same. > > Thanks in advance for any help. > > Terry Parker > Bartow, FL > [email protected]

It would depend on if they were still alive or not. If they were alive, I think her Census Card would tell you if they were enrolled, too. My grandfather enrolled at age 11, but his parents were both dead, so unfortunately there's no record of them in the Dawes Rolls.
