    1. [OKROOTS] Henry WRIGHT, my mysterious great grandfather.......
    2. Hello I am looking for someone who lives in or near Ardmore, OK (Carter Co) who might be able to find some info for me. Henry WRIGHT was living in Ardmore in 1935 (a son, Otto and a daughter, Emma WRIGHT WILLIAMS also resided in Ardmore in 1935) - after that, I have no idea. He would have been about 68 that year. As far as I know, he could be buried near there but I haven't a death date. I would really appreciate it if someone there could check with voter registration and/or old juror applications to see if they have any info on him - date/place of birth, something. I can't seem to make any progress on him. In his younger days, it was my understanding, he worked the oil fields - is Ardmore an oil town? I need help! Thank you in advance Julia Washington State Researching: THOMPSON, WRIGHT (Henry WRIGHT m. Diance Matilda THOMPSON)

    3. Emma Risby Ensley was born in Kansas 1892-95, to John and Margaret Ensley. She was supposed to have been raised by her grandparents William and (Susan?) McKee in Oklahoma. They went there from Guthrie (I was told), Texas about 1890, according to the stories. I am looking for any information on any of them being in Oklahoma. I do not know what area. Also, what year was the Oklahoma Land run? This might help clear up a few details. Thank you Raydean __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 1. [OKROOTS] King and Seidel Surnames
    2. Hello, my name is Faryl Brady and I am new to this list. I've been researching my family history for about three years now and a large part of my family still resides in Oklahoma. Currently, I am researching the surnames listed above, however there are many others that tie into my Oklahoma heritage. I also have the "Landers, Williams, Forbes Family History" book which contains a fair amount of information and stories on those specific surnames and others that are connected through marriage. I would be happy to do lookups and share information if you are researching any of these surnames. The following individuals are the only names I have in the King and Seidel families and my information on them is minimal. My hope is that someone on this list will have information on these individuals or perhaps their parents that will allow me to further my research. Allegra King, born 1908, died 1951. Buried in Brunsfield Cemetery in Seiling, Oklahoma. Mary Seidel, born 1886. Buried in Brunsfield Cemetery in Seiling, Oklahoma. J D King, born 1870. Buried in Brunsfield Cemetery, in Seiling, Oklahoma. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Faryl Brady [email protected] Tucson, Arizona

    1. [OKROOTS] Alberty Cemetery
    2. Wendy, I guess now the law is involved with our old cemetery project. The present landowner says it was already bulldozed when he bought the property, and he has a neighbor who backed him up on that. I can't really say it's not true, because I don't know how long it's been dozed. The previous owner is now dead. I'll keep a check on it and let you know what happens. Ed

    3. Vickie, Thank you so much for posting the URL for Cemeteries of Oklahoma. I found a lot of information on my maternal side. Marriages and where my relatives are buried. Thank you again. And for anyone that is just beginning don't leave any leaf unturned. Follow any leads you have. Why I checked this site was because I had recently received some information as to where some of my relatives settled and were buried. JACKPOT, when I search the below URL. The county is what gave me the best lead. 1. [OKROOTS] C. W. MAYBERRY, US Marshall in Indian Territory
    2. Frank R. Mayberry
    3. Hi! Mark and Lin I have definitely found C. W. (Charley) Mayberry and the following information about him. I visited his gravesite today located in Block 24, lot 3, in the Wetumka, Hughes County, Oklahoma Cemetery. Next to him is his wife Mary E. born Dec 4, 1857, died March 13, 1920. C. W. (Charley) Mayberry was born in New Jersey, and went as far as Ohio. He met and married Mary Ella Huston, on September 25, 1879. They moved to Nebraska, then to Missouri. He served in the Missouri legislature in the 1880's. The family moved to Wetumka, IT(OK). He played a prominent role in building Wetumka. He served as US Marshall and Deputy sheriff. He organized the fire department and served as it's first Chief. He belonged to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. They gave him a wonderful tribute at his memorial: RESOLUTION-Whereas it has pleased Almighty God in His infinite wisdom to call from this life our dearly beloved brother, Charley Mayberry, who after seventy years of activity and influence among men and Brothers upon Earth answered the last great call on Monday morning, March 12, 1934 leaving many friends and fellows to mourn his loss. He had been a true and faithful brother of our independent Order of Odd Fellows for more than half of a century and having served the lodge faithfully as one of it's charter members and truste and secretary for many years. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that in the death of Bro. Mayberry our lodge has suffered a great loss and we bow in humble submission unto the will of Him "who doeth all things well". We wish to place on record our appreciation of the virtues of our departed brother and therefore, be it resolved that a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of our deceased brother, and a copy spread on the minute book of our Lodge No. 189. When he came to Wetumka in 1901 he affiliated with the Christian Church. He was a charter member of the Wetumka Church. He was buried in the Wetumka cemetery as described above. He (C. W.) was buried beside his wife Mary Ella Huston Mayberry, born Dec 4, 1857, who had preceded him in death on March 13, 1920. Someone else was looking for C. W. Mayberry several months ago, I have forgotten on what list but I am thinking it may have been OKROOTS-L - That is why I am posting this to that list, hoping the person will see this. Anyone reading this that remembers who was searching for C. W. Mayberry please copy this and forward to that person. Thanks, Frank Mayberry in Muskogee, Ok
