Lets check with the Choctaw County experts. Lila - Marlynn, Any information on the McCarty Family? By the way, I have a fax machine for you. I did test it and it will send a FAX. Not sure on receiving. There are a few problems with it that a technician may be able to fix. Will try to get it to you on the next trip down. I should have another computer and monitor ready for you within the next 30-60 days. Jann, According to family records he died 10 September 1922 in Redmond, Oregon. I have ordered his death certificate, but it hasn't yet arrived. He is NOT in the 1920 Oregon Soundex, however. I get the feeling my family's records might be wrong. Instead of Oregon, it might have been Oklahoma. > Kathy, > Do you know if he died in OK? If so, when? > > Jann >
Kathy, Do you know if he died in OK? If so, when? Jann
My great-grandfather, Frank D. REDFIELD, once owned some land in Oklahoma, according to my mother. I don't have any idea of where in Oklahoma that land may have been, nor a really good idea of just WHEN he owned that land. However, that's about the only clue I have to his whereabouts between 1895 and 1923. I have access to all the Oklahoma censuses here, but I have no Soundex available. I can't imagine looking for this fellow line by line in every county! Does anyone out there have access to a Soundex and would be willing to check it for Frank D. REDFIELD, Soundex code R314 ? I would be willing to trade a Texas lookup in exchange! I am desperately trying to find my great grandfather! He is my brick wall. My hunch is that he might have been there in 1910 or 1920. ? Thank you to anyone who can possibly help with this. Kathy Funk Austin, Texas [email protected]
Hi, All. Normal schools were teacher training schools and they existed all over the country. San Jose State University in San Jose, CA started out as one. My grandmother also went to Normal School in Oklahoma when she was in her mid-teens (around 1915). If anyone finds out where they were located in CA, and/or a source for information on them, please let me know.
