Miller, 88, was born in Rankin, Oklahoma on August 19, 1920 to Lester and Myrtle Miller. He was the oldest of 10 children. He passed away in his home in Lawndale, California, March 2, 2009. He attended school at Rankin, Midway and graduated from Reydon in 1939. His friend Charlie Carey intruoduced Murrel to radio and he enjoyed working on them. He and Charles kep in touch for years, by radio, although they lived miles apart. About 1940 Murrel went to San Diego, California and worked at Consolidated Aircraft on the B24 bomber, until he went to the Army in 1943. He was assigned to troop transport ships as a radion operator. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1946. He married Navada King, August 2, 1946. They lived in California where he worked at North American Aviation, becoming their chief communications technician in charge of their fleet of corporate jets and helicopters. Murrel and Navada raised two sons, Mike and Ken. Navada preceded him in death on November 9, 2006 after 60 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Glen and Lloyd and four sisters, Helen, Mary, Margie and Verla. He is survived by his children, Mike and Ken; daughters-in-law, Kathy and Dina; grandchildren, Curtis and Molly; 3 sisters, Erma Rainey and husband Floyd and Hazel Jackson and husband Leon, both of Elk City, Oklahoma and Joan of Florida. Murrewl had a stroke when he wsa 85 years old, but was able to stay in his home with 24/7 help. His wonderful caregiver was Pauline Smith.
