Carlos Moreno officiating, under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters. Burial on the family property. Rheuben whitfieldd Green was born to Robert Whitfield and Birdie Dee (Clark) Green in between Sayre and Cheyenne in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, on Maarch 13, 1917 and departed this life in Rush Springs on Januaary 15, 2009 at the age of 91 years, 10 months and two days. Rheubedn grew up in western Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1942. He married Thelma Brown on February 22, 1942 in Norman. They served as foreign missionaries for International Crusades in South America for several years, he preached in most ofd the South America countries in both Spanish and Portugese, including a Lepor Colony in Brazil. He taught music at Temple High school in Temple, until he retired at the age of 72. He spent 56 years as a minister and retired from that at the age of 81. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sterling. He enjoyed playing and teaching music, studying languages to includ Spanish, Portuguese and German, and also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Roy and Don; and four sisters, Geneva, Margie, Rheba and Leta Faye. Survivors include his wife Thelma Green of the home; a son, Rheuben Green and his wife Myong of Rush Springs; a daughter, Annette Henager of Rush Ssprings; a brother, Raymond Green of Haywood, California; a sister, Cuba Jean Coats of Seminole; five grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
