Joe moved with his parents to New Mexico where he attended school. He entered the United States Navy and served his country in the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, Joee began a career a a professional bull rider. He began working for Burnum Cattle Company and later became a welder. He was married to Mayrene (Reeves) Carey at Morgan Mills, Texas on July 21, 2001. They lived and make their home south of Sayre. He attended the Sayre Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Bill Broom,of the home, 1 son Billy Broom, of Port Arkansas, TX; 3 step sons Vandy Beeson, of Burns Flat, Oklahoma, Gary Beeson, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Charles Beeson and wife, Jo Ann, of Sayre, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Jennie Ryan, of Artesia, NM Barbars McBee, of Morgan Mills, TX; brother Jack Broom of Sayre, Oklahoma; 7 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildrewn; and a hos tof other relatives and friends. Graveside Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Carter Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jim Blanken and Rev. Gayle Reeves.
