She passed away on February 22, 2008 at the age of 88 in Pampa, Texas. She married George Wilburn Hapeman on February 24, 1943 in Corpus Christi. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was known as the "Card Lady." Survivors include 2 sons, Wilbur Hapeman, of Pampa and Gene Hapeman, of Jacksboro; 1 daughter Mahota Stamper, of Cheyenne, OK; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Clara Black, by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008, at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Walt Perry, a Baptist minister, and Rev. Richard Bartel, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
