He passed away February 15, 2008 at Durham, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years and 21 days. Phil grew up in Durham, Oklahoma where he spent his younger year's coyote hunting, playing dominoes and taking the family on vacations to Colorado. He was married to Vola Darlene Hillman York at Roll, Oklahoma on June 2, 1957. They made their home at the York Homeplace at Durham for 50 years. Phil and Darlene ran a dairy from l958-2001. Phil also ran the Durham General Storee worked at the COOP in Roll. He enjoyed visting and helping anyone and everyone. Family was one of the most important parts of his life. He was happiest when he had children and grandchildren around. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Mildred Ship, Doriss Hatley, Othello Selby and 1 brother, Oran "Pete" York. He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of the home; 4 children, Terry York and wife Wanda, Durham, Oklahoma, Kathy Cockran and husband, Russell, Solomon, Kansas, Robert York and wife, Carol, Big Sandy, Texas and Neil York and wife, Vicki, Burns Flyt, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Joey, Tracey, Vanessa, Bryan, Bryce, Taylor, Brandon, Marissa, Cody, Raymond, Brandon, Karigan and Elizabeth. 2 great grandchildren, Tyrell and Issac; 3 brothers, Wesley York, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Donnie York, Durham, Oklahoma, and Carol York, Hayward, California; 1 sister, Edna Hicks, Lodi, California; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Durham Community Building officiated by Ray Smart and Randy Sherril. Burial was held at Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
