Survivors include her son Winston Shindell, of Bloomington and two sisters, Joan Curlee of Winston Saalem, North Carolina, and Sybil Taquino of San Antonio, Texas. Her grandchildren are Traci Jovanovic of Leeburg, Virginia and Winston (Trey) Shindell of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She also has four great grandsons, Marko and Luka Jovanovic and Dane and Spencer Shindell. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband W.W. Shindell, her parents Rube H. Bingham and Jessie Allen Bingham, plus her three brothers-- Jearl Jack, and Rube, Jr. She lived most of her life in Durham, Oklahoma, where she and her husband owned and operated a general hardware store and gas station. Evelyn was a member of the Eastern Star, the Durham Willing Workers, and an active volunteer for many community projects over the years. In 1989, she and her husband moved to Bloomington, Indiana, to be close to her son, Winston. Her prime hobby was flower gardening and enjoying the beauty of her work. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Evelyn's life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Durham, Oklahoma, on Monday, June, 29, 2009.
