Perry and J.P. were in the same 6th Texas Cavalary outfit (Troop F) from Lancaster, Texas. When visiting the Cheyenne Cemetery, you will often find a Confederate flag on both Perry Strait and Joseph Taylors' graves. Pharington's father, Pleasant was a delegate to the Texas assembly voting to join the Conferederacy. He also manfactured the Confederate version of the Navy Colt pistol in Lancaster, Texas during the war.
