She passed away April 29, 2008 in Houston, Texas at the age of 73 years. Leslie was a 1952 graduate of Cheyenne High School and later attended business school in Oklahoma City. She loved competitive sports particularly college football. She was an avid OU fan especially the second weekend of October when they played the University of Texas. Leslie also loved to bowl and play bridge. She also enjoyed trivia, shuffleboard, and country and western dancing. Survivors include her husband Jerry Howell of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Gail Merrick Perry of Whitehouse, Texas and Leslie Lynn Howell of San Antonio, Texas; one adopted sister, Lana Merrick of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Services were held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2:3 pm at Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston, Texas. The services were officiated by Rev. Gene Vicrey.
