The family later established businesses and permanent residence in Leedey, Oklahoma where James grew up among lifelong and much beloved friends and community. After completing high school, James joined the Air Force and was trained as a pilot in World War II. Following the war, James attended Oklahoma A&M graduating with a degree in geology in 1950. It was while attending college that James began dating, then married a hometown girl, Betty Ann McFarland. The couple made their home in Leedey, raising family and active participating in their native community James' devotion to his community and church remained with him throughout his life. James followed his wife of 61 years, Betty, to the end of this life's journey on September 17, 2008. She proceeded him in death on September 11, 2008. James is survived by his children, Edward Anderson Logan and Susan Gay Logan, both of Oklahoma City; his sister, Joyce Covey of Butler, and her children, James Covey and Donna Roper; His sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Jim Fields of Oklahoma City; and their children, Kenneth, Pamela and Tamara. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and affection to the staff of Dr. Stephen Hamilton and Trinity hospice services. A celebration of James' life will be held at Hahn-Crook/Street and Draper at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. In lieu of flowrs, those wishing to do so can make donations to either American Cancer Society or American Red Cross.
