He passed away October 14, 2008 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 10 months aand 24 days. Leon grew up in western Oklahoma working on his grandparents and parents farms. He also did some ranch work or whatever was necessary to help his parents provide for their family. He later worked on road construction and helped build bridges around western Oklahoma. He waS married to Betty Lee Maddox on March 2, 1960. He attended county schools in Ellis county only going to the 4th grade. He was a self taught artist, sketching sincce he was a child. He will be remembered as an "author of stories on canvas". His paintings and sketches represented his grandparents farm, wildlife, ranch, and western scenes. He competed in many western Oklahoma art festivals from 1975 to September of 2008 and won many awards. He also enjoyed having a vegetable garden every year! , telling stories of family history, taking care of his pet chickeens, and just being around his grandchildren. He will be forever misssed by his childdren, grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra Lee Woodleee and husband, Doug, Elk City, Oklahoma and Vicky Elizabeth May Carman and husband, David, Elk City, Oklahoma, 2 step-daughters, Becky Harrington and husband, Ezell, Elk City, Oklahoma and Judith Ann Gannon and husband, Thomas, Elk City, Oklahoma; 5 brothers, Ben Bradley, Kansas, Wiley Bradley, Kansas, Joe Bradley, Nebraska, Ron Bradley, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, 1 sister, Margaret Fadenrecht, Weatherford, Oklahoma, 4 grandchildren, David, Daniel, Kimberly, and Levi, 3 step grandchildren, Larry, Jeremy, and Jarred, 1 great granddaughter, Marlana, 5 step great grandchildren, Zane, Amy, Emily, Kaden, Jalynn, 1 special great niece, Harley and a host of other relatives and friends.
