Slim was born December 4, 13, Cheyenne, Oklahoma to John Pitzer Hooper and Catherine Butler Hooper, the tenth of eleven children. Slim married Ruth Richerson of Allison, Texas. Two children Sandra Jo Hooper Fox of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Roscoe Hooper of Farmington, New Mexico. Slim a veteran of World War II, General Patton's Third Division; Second Infantry Regiment. Farmington, NM was his home at the time of his departing this life here. Slim is survived by two children, Sandra Jo Hooper Fox, Roscoe Hooper, and grandchildren.
