He had been confined to his room for two weeks. Hez D. Cox was born in Illinois, October 15, 1843. Married Miss Delphia Phillips, August 19, 1860. To this union were born six children, two of which are now living, Don J. and Jennie. There are eight grandchilddren and one great grandchild. The two grandchildren, Mrs. L.L. Ingrem of Amarillo, Texas and Mrs. Gussie Reifschneider of Jacksonville, Fla. were at his bedside. Mr. Cox has been a main support in Cheyenne for years, and there have been few men, who have donated as liberally to the advancemen of the citizenship of our city and county than Mr. Cox. The citizenship of this county and town will miss the good advice and financial aid he has given us. He was noble minded, candid in his demeanor and hospitable. Mr. Cox was a member of the Baptist Church of this city, uniting with the church at this place in 1902. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at 3 o'clock p.m. Rev Wileman conducting the services. Interment was made at the Cheyenne Cemetery at six o'clock under the hospices of the Odd Fellow Lodge of which he was a member. The Sentinel with the host of his friends in western Oklahoma extend sympathy to the bereft relatives.
