She passed away July 12, 2008 at Elk City at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 21 days. She moved to Elk City in 1943 where she met Charles Chester and they were married in 1944. Gladys is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Turley and husband Ed, Booneville, Ark., Jan Stone, Elk City; one son, Bobby Chester and wife Betty, Thayer, MO, five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess William and Letha Bagby, husband, two daughters, three sons, six brothers and one sister. Services will be held Tuesday July 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Main Street Baptist Church officiatled by Kris Rambler. Burial will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
