He was born May 25, 1918, at Strong City, Oklahoma. He came to Washington State in January of 1940, went into the army January 1941, where he served in the Pacific theatre. Discharged from the service in September 1945, he met and married Mabel Goodrich, November 16, 1946. To this union were born three children, Deanna, Melody and David. David died in a car accident while serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, in June 1975. After Robert's discharge from the army he worked at several different jobs, retiring from Shakertown in Winlock in September 1984, after working there 34 years. He was a Christian, attending Winlock Assembly of God Church, and a member of American Legion Post 101 in Winlock. He was preceded in death by his son David and granddaughter Tamera Cook. Robert is survivedd by his wife Mabel; daughters Deanna DiBenedetto, and Melody Dempewolf; grandchildren Robyn Ulebarre, Luke Heian and Noellee Heian; and sister Hallie Carey of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. A memorial service was held on March 9, 2008 at Winlock's New Beginnings Asssembly of Gofd Church, with Pastor John Vantrease officiatinhg. A graveside service followed at Winlock Cemetery.
