She passed away January 25, 2009 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years and 20 days. She was married to C.L. "Bud" Hickey at Elk City, Oklahoma on January 17, 1938. They made their home west of Reydon, Oklahoma whilwe Bud farmed and raised cattle and horses. To this union, one son, Charles Lee Hickey was born. During World War II she had two brothers serving in the Army and she was extremely active in the Red Cross. Hester loved to raise chickens, milk cows, sew, crochet and quilt. She was a member of the Reydon United Methodist Church. Hester never had piano or organ lessons but learned to play b ear and wass the churh acc companist for several years. She was also a member of the Reydon American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by son Charles and wife Debbie of Reydon, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Hickey and wife Erin, Reydon, Oklahoma; Justin Hickey and wife Brandyce, Retrop, Oklahoma; Shona Zybach and husband Kyle, Elk City, Oklahoma; Carson Hickey and friend Samantha Meyer, Reydon, Oklahoma and Travis Hickey and fiaancee Loni Barrick, Reydon, Oklahoma; 5 great grandchildren, Emma and Nate Hickey, Luke and Zack Zybach and Holden Hickey and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Reydon First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Lynn Brack and Dr. Alberta Helton. Burial followed at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
