She passed away March 4, 2008 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 3 days. At the age of four, Iva moved with her parents to a farm two miles north of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She attended Cheyenne School and graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1937. On September 11, 1938 she was married to Lester Warren Minor at Cheyenne, Oklahoma and they moved to their farm west of Strong City where she resided for 46 yearss. To this union were born two children, Ivan and Gail. Lester passed away in December of 19833 and Iva later moved to Cheyenne to make her home. She greww up attending the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne and accepted Christ as her savior at the age of 12. Iva worked in Bible School for over 40 years. She also sang in the church choir and enjoyed helping wherever needed in the work of the Church. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star of Cheyenne, serving three times as Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star of Cheyenne. Iva had served three times as Worthy High Priestess of White Shrine of Jerussalem of Elk City and had be! en a member of the Shrine of Oklahoma City for a number of years. In addition to Lester, she was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandchild, Jennifer, 2 sisters, Viola and Sara; and 2 brothers, Richard and George. She is survived by her son, Ivan Minor and wife, Doris, Strong City, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Gloria Gail McDaniel and husband, Ewing "Mac", Victorville, California; 4 grandchildren, John Paul McDaniel, Victorville, California, Christopher Minor and wife, Stacey, Yukon, Oklahoma, Nancy Hay and husband Joe, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Joshua Minor and wife, Kathryn, Strong City, Oklahoma; 6 great grandchildren, Joey Minor, Ben Hay, Bryce Hay, Zak Minor, Lacy Minor, Warren Minor; 2 sisters, Dorothy Tucker, Kingfisher, Oklahoma and Ruth White, Perry, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephes, other relatives and friends. Services were held Thursdday, March 6, 2008 at 11:00 am at Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Duayne Clapp. Burial followed at Strong City Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
