On May 4, 1904, he was married to Ethel Maude Moye and to this union were born 9 children. His early life was spent in West Texas as a rancher coming to Oklahoma in 1925, of which most of that time has been in the Cheyenne and Crawford communities. He joined the Methodist church early in life. Survivors include 4 sons; J.D., Bill, John, and George; 4 daughters; Marjorie King, Allene Penrod, Marilena Fritch and Kathryn Talley, also 20 grandchildren, his wife and daughter, Betty Jo Baker, preceded him in death.
