Herring, and passed away, Saturday, april 16, 1960 at the Veterans Hospital, Norman, Oklahoma. He was married to Opal Lee Robbins at Cheyenne, Oklahoma September 21, 1937. To this union six children were born, twins a son and daughter, who passed away in infancy; and four daughters. The family lived in Roll for a number of years, then a short time in Clinton, before they moved to Reydon in 1943, where they have since resided. In 1946 he suffered a tracxtor accident which cost him his legs. He spent the first years in Veterans Hospital Amarillo, Texas. Although he was home for a number of years and walked up town and could go about, he gradually grew worse and spent the last years in the Veterans hospital in Norman. He had joined the Church of Christ when a boy and attended services at the norman hospitaal. He leaves to mourn, his wife Opal Lee Herring and Brenda of home, Mrs. Mary Lee Snell, Reydon; Mrs. Betty Chandler of Vernon, Texas; Mrs. Barbara Wall of Pasadena, Texas and two grandchildren, Gary Don Chandler and Barbara Lee Wall. Two sisters, Mrs. E.L. Fausett and Mrs. Belle Wilson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 20, 1960 at 2:30 p.m. at the Reydon community building with W.I. Trent of Hammon, assisted by Johnny Freeman of Cheyenne in charge of services. Burial was in the Silent home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, by the side of the twins. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
