Hendershot was born in Red River County, Texas, in May 1896. He moved with his parents to Oklahoma in 1902. He served his country with the army in World War I. He was united in marriage to Opal Blakely on May 1, 1920 at Anna, Texas. They moved to Roger Mills county, in 1921. To this union were born four sons and three daughters. He departed this life at his home September 9, 1961, at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 2 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, four brothers and one grandson. He leaves to mourn his passwing, his wife, of the home3, four sons, Jack, Deer Park, Texas, Jim of the home, Jene, Merritt Island, Florida, Johnnie, Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne Williams, Tulsa, Mrs. Raymond Allen, Sayre, Mrs. Joe Bradley, Edmond; his father, H.H. Hendershot, Strong City; his sister, Mrs. Walter Zuber, Melrose, New Mexico; two brothers, Alton Hendershot, Canadain, Texas, Herbert Hendershot, Duncan, Oklahoma; nineteen grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Committal in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
