After the death of her father, the family left Kansas by train and settled on a farm east of Cheyenne in 1901. She gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 15 and joined a Baptist Church and has been a devoted Christian since. Through her witnessing, many lives have been influenced for the Lord. In 1904, she met and married R. Bruce Jones, who preceded her in death in 1956. She was the mother of 12 children. Two of them have preceded her in death, a daughter, Kate Ella Hensley, and a son, Clifford Maltby. Left to mourn her passing are five daughters: Madge Allen, Sweetwater, Okla.; Pearl Giddens, Spearman, Texas; Hazel Reedser, Amarillo, Texas; Lorraine Mills, Aumsville, Oregon; Vesta Lee Lewis, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and five sons: R. Bruce, Hyattstown, Maryland; Homer, Inglewood, California; Sam (USN0, San Diego, California; H. Harold, Redding, California; and Bill, Dumas, Texas, Three brothers: Charlie Maltby, Desdemona, Texas; Grover Maltby, Arkansas City, Kansas; Ike Maltby, Elk City, Oklahoma; and one sister, Lelia Haggerty, New York State; forty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a host of neices, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held at the Reydon community builgind Friday, 2:30 p.m. September 14, 1962, with Rev. Lynn Heard of Sayre, her former pastor, officiating and Rev. C.R. Shaw assisting. Burial was in the Dempsey cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills C ounty, Oklahoma beside her husband. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
