Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne at 2:30 p.m., April 4, 1968 with Rev. Robert Webb and Rev. Leland Burch officiating. Born November 12, 1876, Hillsborough, Texas, Mrs. Thomas married J.W. Thomas September 20, 1905, in Day County. She had come to Durham from Bowie, Texas in 1898. She was a member of the First Christian church since 1916. She has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Fred Cordell, in Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her husbqand, one son, J.W. Thomas, Jr.; three sisters and five brothers. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Irene Taylor, Belleplaine, Kansas, Mrs. Pauline Cordell, Cheyenne, and Mrs. Katura Powers, Midwest City; three sons, Bufford and Bruce both of Durham, Vint of Hardesty; two brothers, Hammit Dunn of Midland, Texas and clay Dunn, Pilot Point, Texas; twenty grand children and 26 great grandchildren. Pall bearers were her grandsons, James Thomas, Billy Taylor, Dempsey Powers, Gordon Thomas, and Gene Johnson. Committal was in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
