Mangold. Flossie Helen Keller came to the Durham community with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Keller in 1900. There she attended shcool completing the eight graade after which she attended county normal schools and became a teacher of Roger Mills County. On November 2, 1912 she was married to C.O. (Ott) Mangold, also of the Durham community. To this union four children were born, one of which, George Washington is deceased. The surviving children are Mary Jo Marshall, Tucson, Arizona, Floy Gene Christopher, lieutenant colonle in the Navy, New York City and Charles Otto Mangold, Pampa, Texas. Also surviving is a sister Opal White of Edwards, Washington and two grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death by a few months.. Mrs. Mangold resided in the Durham community until 1929 when the family moved to Reydon where they operated a hotel until 1935. They then moved to Clinton which was their home until 1956. Since that time, Mrs. Mangold and her husband had resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pampa, Texas and Elk City. Soon after the death of her husband, Mrs. Mangold came to the Convalescent Hospital in Cheyenne where she spent the last few months preceding her death from cancer from which she had suffered a number of years. Rev. Richard E. Gibbens, pastor of the Methodist church in Elk City where she held membership, preached the funeral services. She was laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma by the side of her husband with Scroggins of Cheyenne directing the service Saturday, August 5, 1961. Flossie was an energetic person who loved people and life itself. Her cheerful disposition, and her natural wit added cheer to the lives of many. During her long illness she enjoyed visitors of which she had many, and always greeted each one with a cheery remark and enjoyed conversing with each one.
