At boyhood he moved with his parents to Fort Worth, Texas for a short while, returning to Strong City where he was united in marriage to Hazel Bessie Allen on April 27, 1923. To this union one son was born, Steele James Kimzey of Strong City. Mr. Kimzey made his home in Strong City until 1942, when he served with the United States Army at camp Chaffee, Arkansas. Following discharge from the Armed Forces he moved to California for 2 1/2 years, returning to Strong City where he resided. His mother, father, and an infant brother preceded him in death. Those left to mourn Porter's departure are one son, Steele Kimzey and family of Strong City, Hazel B. Kimzey of Elk Grove, California, one brother, Jim Colburn of Cheyenne, three nieces, 2 nephews, 3 cousins and a host of friends.
