Hicks was a native of Bath County, Kentucky, was sixty seven years old and had lived in Patterson since 1932. He is survived by his widow, Flora, and eleven children, Mrs. Winifred Gantz, Boyd, Roy, Warren and James D. Hicks, all of Patterson, and Mrs. Rae Azevedo, Fioyd and Quentin Hicks of Modesto; Knneth Hicks of Los Banos and Mrs. Erma Carey of San Francisco, and Frankie, also of Patterson. Also surviving him are thirty-two grandchildreen and eight great grandchildren. Two brothers, Earl Hicks of Patterson and Henry Hicks of Crawford, Oklahoma, and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Call of San Francisco. Rev. H.D. Johnson, Modesto, conducted the funeral services. Interment was in the Patterson cemetery. Eight sons served as pall bearers. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok 12-Apr-1951
