Surnames: Mangold, Kimbell, Tarkington, McKean, Estes, Williams Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/6965 Message Board Post: Pearl Alice Kimbell was born December 22, 1881 in Johnson County, Texas to John F. and Margaret Elizabeth Kimbell and passed away November 11, 1951 at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 19 days. She moved to Greer County, Oklahoma with her parents in 1887 and in 1896 afther the death of her parents, she moved to the Durham community where she hase resided to the present time. On October 13, 1907 she was married to Jacob Edward Mangold at Grand, Oklahoma and five children were born to this union. Her husband and oldest son Temple, preceded her in death. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ, a loyal loving wife and mother. Miss Pearl, as she was affctionately known by many people, was an early day educator, has taught sixteen years in the county schools of the Durham Community and was one of the first teachers in the present Durham school. Many people present began their schooling under her teaching. She was a woman of vision, looking ever forward to a better future for her children and for the community. She was always interested in the education and improvement of the growing boys and girls, not only of her own family but of the neighbors as well. She is survived by one on, Jacob of Durham, and three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie McKean and Mrs. Johnnie Estes of Durham, and Mrs. Alice Williams of Oklahoma City and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Laura Tarkington, of Amarillo, Texas; three brothers, Albert and Chris Kimbell of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and George Kimbell of Phoenix, Arizona and a hos of other relatives and friends. The above obituary was read at the funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Mangol held at the Durham school auditorium Wednesday, November 14, 1951. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 21-Nov-1951
