Noblitt was born in Missouri on March 9, 1851 and died at his home near Durham, on March 7, 1927, at the age of 76 years. He was married to Matilda Hawkins, January 17, 1878. To this union twelve children were born, four preceding him in death, leaving the wife and eight children to mourn his departure. Mr. Noblitt was baptised into the Christian church at a very early age and lived a Christian life. Mr. Noblitt had been a resident of Roger Mills county living on a farm near Durham for twenty three years. He was a man highly respected by all. He was always ready to befriend a neighbor and to assist them in the time of illness or other need. He cardd for a large family of his own and then cared for several grand children. He lived a life of sacrifice and reaped a harvest of friendship among men. Mr. Noblitt was an active member of the Church of Christ and an upright Christian devoted to his religious convictions. A large crowd was present at his funeral. Services were conducted by Rev. Brewer of Hammon and talks were made by Guy Gabbert and W.R. Potter, both of Durham, after which he was laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Those of the children present at the funeral were: Mrs. Myrtle Grant of Quannah, Texas, Mr. amd Mrs. Emery Noblitt of Pampa, Texas,Earl Noblitt of Perryton, Texas, Lee Noblitt of Alva, Oklahoma, Mrs. Glover and boys, Elva Noblitt.
