He moved with his parents to Oklahoma in 1901, settling north of Rankin, Roger Mills County. He moved from Roger Mills County to Elk City a year ago. He was married to Miss Bessie Selby June 30, 1920. To this union five children were born. His father, Alf Wells and one son, Leonard Coleman, about three years ago preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his wife, Mrs. Bessie Wells, a son, Floyd, and three daughters, Mrs. Wilda Bea Balding, Wilma Lee and Estella at home. His mother, Mrs. Susan Wells and sisters, Mrs. Edna Wheeler, Mrs. Nellie Perterson and Mrs. Goldie Garayle and brother, Archie Wells, all of Amarillo, Texas. Also a sister, Mrs. Rena Burton of Canadian, Texas. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Sam T. Snyder, pastor of the Assembly of God church of Reydon, on Thursday, December 5, 1946 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was in the White Rose Cemetery, Redyon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Those attending from a distance besides hi family, sisters and brothers and their families were: his aunts, Mrs. Janie Wells and son, Robert Wells and wife and Mrs. Etta Wells of arnett, Walter Wells of Det5roit, Michigan, Mrs. Wells parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.F. Selby of Elk City and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Calrence Samples of Leedey and Mrs. T.E. Swopes and family of Reydon. Her brothers Mr. and Mrs. Orville Selby of strong City, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Selby of Pampa, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Selby of Durham; N.W. Selby and family of Reydon, also a cousin, Mrs. T.T. Polk and family. Other cousins from Elk city were Miss Olive Wells, Mrs. James Bonds, Mrs. John Turbyfill and husband and granddaughter, Mary Sue Albright, another cousin, Mrs. Alva smith and husband of Clinton. Friends from Elk City were: Mr. and Mrs. Dud Piercy and sons, Buddy and Charles, Jimmy Leatherwood. Mr. and Mrs Fred Magness and a host of friends and relatives of Crawford and Reydon.
