He passed away suddenly after suffering a severe heart attack at 6:00 o'clock a.m. Thursday morning. Mr. Haigh taught school in Roger Mills County for several years, later serving as County Superintendent of Schools for eight years, and for the past nine years he has served as County Treasurer. He was married to Agnes Dixon in September, 1894 and to this union were born four children, Ruby and Vera who preceded him in death and two sons, Ernie and Ted who are living in Cheyenne. He has one brother living, Jim Haigh of Coyle, Oklahoma, who was present at the funeral, two sisters Mrs. Nim Bowman of Cheyenne, and Mrs. Aimie Brwer of Mesa, Arizona, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, was very loyla and upright in dealing with the public and was counted as one of the outstanding citizens of Roger Mills County. His friends were counted by those who knew him. Funeral services were conducted by W.H. Farris of Elk City and the present pastor of the Church of Christ at Cheyenne, Friday, September 19, 1947 at the Baptist church in Cheyenne. He was laid to rest beside his wife, who departed this life June 3, 1944, interment being made in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Tunnard Funeral Home in charge.
