He was the son of T.M. Kendall and the third child in a family of seven children, five boys and two girls. Two of these brothers, Frank and John have passed on before him. "Uncle Bill" made a profession of faith in Christ during the early years of his life and united with the Baptist church which faith he held until his death. On June 11, 1876 he was married to Martha Ann Harper and to this union ten children were born, two of which, a boy nine years old and an infant girl, have preceded him into eternity. Those children surviving him are: William Edward Kendall of Strong City, Thomas Kendall of Canadian, Texas, Mrs. Maggie Simpson of Farmington, New Mexico, Mrs. Abbie Young of Strong City, Mrs. Frances Lindsay of McAlester, Mrs. Bird Bradford of Marlow, Mrs. Dave Hyer of Gage and Mrs. Lucille Evans of Strong City. Two brothers and a sister survive him, Tom and Sam Kendall of Cheyenne and Mrs. Mary Jane Jackson of May, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church at Strong City, Rev. Trent, pastor of the Baptist church at Hammon and a personal friend of the family, in charge. A tribute to the memory of "Uncle Bill" was given by Judge Mitchell of Clinton. "Uncle Bill" by which name he was known by all who knew and loved him, leaves a host of friends and many relatives who bear record of the high esteem of his noble chirstian character. Burial Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
