Snyder was born in Crawford County, Saeger Town, Pa., Born August 9, 1862,Died January 12, 1925 age 62 years, 5 months and 4 days. He was the son of William and Sarah Snyder. The family moved to Va from Pa. when he was 8 years of age and lived there for 3 years. Then they moved back to Pa. They resided there until 1877. Then they moved near Mitchellville, Iowa, where he lived until 1903 then he moved near Rankin, Oklahoma where he has lived since. His parents both died in Iowa. Elmer was the first of the children to die. There are remaining seven children, Cecelia Snyder of near Midway, Oklahoma, Almena Keefusof, Howe, Ind., William A. Snyder of Kimberley British Columbia, Mrs. Mary Johnson off Audubon, Iowa, Mrs. Flora reynolds of Bertha, Mo., Mrs. Cevelia E. Egan of Hamlin, Iowa, Mrs. Susan K. Miller of Rankin, Oklahoma. He also leaves a great many other friends and relatives of Iowa and Oklahoma. He joined the Evengelical church in 1903, transferring church letter to Rankin, Oklahoma. He was always a strong believer in the gospel of Christ. He made a strong avowal of Faith in Pentecostal Holiness experience, a change of heart and purpose, this being in October. He died at the home of his sister Mrs. Susan Miller, coming there on Thursday night and dying on Monday January 12, 1925, nearly 10 o'clock at night, of pneumonia and heart trouble. He had not been very well for ten days, but continued going about and doing his work until Thursday night. I have reason to believe that he died in Christ as he seemed so changed since October.
