Noblitt, a pioneer of the Durham community in Roger Mills County. Services were held at Miami, Texas, after which the body was taken to the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma where it was laid to rest by the side of her husband. Services at the graveside were directed by Guy Gabbart, a residnet of the Durham community and an old friend of the family. Mrs. Noblitt came to the Durham community with her husband and family in an early day and resided until after the death of her husband in 1927, when she moved to Miami, Texas, where she resided until her death on January 10, 1941. Her death came as a fresult of complications following a fall which caused her to suffer a broken hip. Matilda Hawkins Noblitt was born September 4, 1858. On January 7, 1878 she was married to William Jordan Noblitt and to this union 12 children were born. To died in infancey and the other two G.O. Noblitt and R.A. Noblitt preceded her in death and both are buried in the Fairview cemetery. Eight children survive who are; Mrs. G.V. Glover, Miami, Texas; J.A. Noblitt, Stanley, New Mexico; J.H. Noblitt, Warden, Montana; W. E. Noblitt, Pampa, Texas; R.E. Noblitt, Elk City, Oklahoma; O.L. Noblitt, Alva, Oklahoma; Mrs. Myrtle Grant, Pampa, Texas; and Mrs. a.B. Turner, Pampa, Texas. Thirty grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren survive. Pall bearers were six grandsons, Troy and Otis Glover, Ivan and Clayton Noblitt and Melfin and Eugene Turner. Mrs. Noblitt became a member of the Church of Christ early in life and remained a faithful member until death called her.
