Mrs. Stevens was born November 25, 1873 at Lipan, Texas. She was married in 1894 to George e. Stevens in Texas. They moved to RogerMills County in 1901 from Nebraska and have continued residence in the vicinity since that time. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death August 27, 1922. Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. C.B. Crook of Mayfield; Mrs. D. Brewer and Mrs. Pascal Payne of Susanville, Calif.; Mrs. S.M. Hardy of Sweetwater, Okla.; Mrs. W.c. Kahoa of Grimes; two sisters, Mrs. Ola Iles of Bridgeport, Texas and Mrs. Blanche Brooks of Texas; 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Burial in Dempsey cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. (Cheyenne Star Jully 31, 1947)
