She was united in marriage to Joseph Platts December 21, 1894. To this union were born one daughter Bessie Garrison and two sons, Hugh of Shidler, Oklahoma and Verne who still ived with his parents. Besides the husband and children she leaves o mourn her loss two grandchildren, Anna and Irene Garrison, one sister Mrs. Hattie Pruitt Boswell of Pierce City, Mo., William Pruitt of Gracemont, Oklahoma and Louis Pruitt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 1903 she came with her family to Oklahoma settling on the farm on which they had resided till death called her away. In early life she united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church of Pierce City Mo. and lived a consistent Christian life, was always a kind and loving wife and mother, always thoughful for the comfort of others and to know her was to love her. She ran the journey of life in a little more than 55 years. It was a path marked with love and kindness, flowers not thorns, sunshine not shadows, she scattered everywhere. Truth was the inspiration of her life and by kindness she exemplifeid its great worth. The floral offerings were beautiful tributes of love. A large assembly of friends was present at the funeral services, which were conducted by Rev. C.E. Rhoads of Cheyenne, December 7, 1929. She was tenderly laid to rest in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. (Cheyenne Star Dec. 12, 1929)
