Widener of Durham, who died following a long illness at her home at midnight February 25, 1947, were held Firday, February 28, 1947 at the Durham school auditorium at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Frank Postolle of Elk City and Rev. Sam Snyder of Reydon officiating. Mrs. Widener was born Sept. 23, 1884 in Indiana. She was married to T.F. Widener at Jewel City, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Widener moved to western Oklahoma in 1909 and settled in the Durham community where they made their home since that time. She was a long time member of the Assembly of God church at Reydon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1935. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Myrtle Widener of Durham and Mrs. Helen Watson of Durham; three sons, Austin and Norman of Durham and Hugh of Culver Tiy, California; one brother, Albert Norton, St. Joseph, Mo. Committal was in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. (Cheyenne Star March 6, 1947)
