Surnames: Taylor, Meeks Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/2691 Message Board Post: Mrs. Paul Taylor, teacher of Zyback, Texas, died at Elk sanitarium, Thursday, February 24, 1927, after a two weeks illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Taylor was formerly Miss Elsie Meeks daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Meeks, who reside about six milesnorthwest of this city. Mrs. Paul Taylor was born November 6, 1902, at Logan, N.M. and came to Oklahoma with her parents in 1907. She attended the public school at Cheyenne and graduated from the high school with the class of 1919. After graduating from high school she attended the A & M College at Stillwater graduating from that school in 1924. While attending A & M she received the distinction of passing the highest mental test of any of her class. She was teaching at Zyback, Texas when she became ill, when she came to the home of her parents and later was taken to Elk City to a hospital where after a few days she passed into the great beyond. Miss Elsie Meeks was united in marriage to Mr. Paul Taylor June 11, 1926. Funeral services were conducted at the grave side at the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma Friday afternoon in the presence of a legion of firends who shared with the bereaved family in their sorrow.
