Mr. Stauber had suffered an illness earlier in the evening at his home in this city and was taken to Sayre to see a doctor but died while waiting. Funeral services for Mr. Stauber were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Crawford high school auditorium with Rev. A.L. Oden, pastor of the Pentacostal Holiness church of Cheyenne and Rev. A.L. Martin officiating. Burial was in the Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne. Robert Joseph Stauber was born in Lynn County, Missouri July 17, 1877 and departed this life November 20, 1947 at the age of 70 years, four months and three days. He was married to Miss Belle Thompson on December 24, 1905 at Roll, Oklahoma, where they resided most of the time since. To this union five children were born, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Ruth Blackstock, Lamesa,Texas; Mrs. Ena Hobdy, Espanola, New Mexico; Mrs. Bobbie Wooten, Avant, Oklahoma; Mrs. Marjorie Martin, who resides on the old homestead aat Roll; and one son, J.W. stauber of Espanola, New Mexico. Surviving also are four sons-in-law and 14 grandchildren, all of whom were present for the funeral. Present also were a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives. Mr. Stauber was among the pioneers of this county having come here in 1902 at which time he filed on a place 1 1/2 miles north of Roll. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances.
