WRIGHT TAKES OWN LIFE Well Known Citizen of Rankin Takes Own Life Wednesday Afternoon A SHOT GUN IS EMPLOYED Has Been In Poor Health For Several Years Mentally Unbalanced Probable Cause Henry Wright, a well known citizen of the Rankin Community took his own life last Wednesday afternoon at his home, while members of the family were away from the home. Mr. Wright has been in poor health for a long time and had not been feeling well for several days. The children were at school and Mrs. Wright was working in the field at the time of the tragedy. When the children returned from school they found their father's shoes under the bed on the porch but he was not about. The little eight year old son went to the garage and finding his father lying on his face in a pool of blood, called an older sister who notified Mrs. Wright and called Dr. Cary. Officers were then called and an inquest was held. The corner's verdict was that H.G. Wright came to his death from a self-inflicted gun shot wound. The surrounding circumstances bear out the theory that Mr. Wright took his shot-gun and placed one shell in the barrell and got into the back seat of his car, placing the muzzle of the gun against his left breast and the stock against the front seat, discharged the contents into his body by tripping the triger with his foot. This theory was arrived at as the gun was in the back seat of the car and a pool of blood was also there, the car door was open and Mr. Wright when found was lying on his face near the rear wheel. The only plausible reason for this rash act is that he became mentally unbalanced and decided to end his suffering and troubles. Burial White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
