Puryear was born in Hunt County, Texas February 21, 1871 Died May 23, 1928. She moved with her parents to Roger Mills county where she made a homestead on a claim on the Buffalos in 1898. She taught school for a number of years often riding horse back across the prarier to her school. She was zealouse in her work having the interest of her pupils very much at heart. She was married to Robert a. Poore in 1910. To this union waas born one son Robert M. aged 15 years. Her husband preceded her to the Great Beyond in 1919. Hers was a useful and unslefish life until she suffered a partial mental breakdown two years ago from which she never recovered. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Rober M. Poore and a sister Mrs. C.A. Wood, both of Grimes, Oklahoma and a brother Jim Puryear of sansacra, South Dakota, besides relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. S.f. Lancaster at the Berlin school house, after which the remains were laid away to rest in the Berlin cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
