Bradshaw will be held at the Baptist church in Cheyenne Thursday afternoon, June 23, 1949 at 2:30 o'clock Rev. Don Anderson, local Baptist pastor, will deliver the funeral sermon. The Masonic lodge will conduct the burial ceremony. Committal will be in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scorggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne. Mr. Bradshaw passed away at his home in this city early Wednesday June 22, 1949 after an illness of two years, much of this time his illness being critical. He was 65 years of age. Survivors include his wife and seven children. The children are J.E. Bradshaw, Herbert Bradshaw, Jimmie Bradshaw and Mrs. Harry Dearing, all of Cheyenne; Perry Bradshaw of Arnett, Oklahoma; Mrs. Leonard Rush of Caldwell, Kansas, and Mrs. Edgar Riggs of Oklahoma City, all of whom are present for the funeral. J.M. Bradshaw moved to Cheyenne from durham community in the early 20s when he accepted a position as undersheriff of Roger Mills County, a position he held for several years. He later becam active in ranching and at the time of his death was one of the outstanding ranchers of western Oklahoma. J.M. Bradshaw was a man who attended to his own affairs, and who made no enemies and one who never failed a friend. (Cheyenne Star June 23, 1949)
