Macklin, January 5, 1912, near Berlin, Oklahoma, Roger Mills County and died April 6, 1925, age 13 years, 3 months and 1 day. Glenn was a boy with nobel character and whose being just teemed with energy. No task was to hard nor did he shirk from responsibility. Realizing that this world with its allurementa did not suffice for Eternity, he gave his heart to God who so wisely said, remember the father in the days of thy youth. His last illness was a short period of four days, and his last words were of his teacher and schoolmates. Why one so young and full of promise should be taken from this journey of life is beyond our power to tahom, yet we recall the poet's words, 'Ere sin could blight, or sorrow fade, death comes with chilly care, the opening bud conveyed to heaven and bade to blossom there. W. Klopkenstein preached the furneral at the berlin cemetery. He said so many helpful words to the bereaved ones in this sad hour. The floral offering was beautiful and after the casket was lowered and the grave filled, Glen's teacher, Louie Carr and his schoolmates each placed a flower on the grave. A large crowd was present to pay their last respects. Glenn will be missed in school as well as at home. He leaves to mourn his loss, father, mother, four brothers, 4 sisters and many other relatives besides a host of friends. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family and may God console their troubled hearts is the wish of neighbors and friends. Note: sometimes Glen is spelled Glenn. ( Cheyenne Star, April 23, 1925)
