She was married to J.B. Daugherty on December 12, 1882. To this union were born six children, two of whom preceded her in death. She professed faith in Christ and united with the Missionary Baptist church at the age of 12 years and lived a beautiful, consecrated Christian life till God called her home. The deceased leaves to mourn her going her husband, Mr. J.B. Daugherty, four children, Mrs. J.H. Spangler, Oklahoma City; Mrs. J.L. Dearing, Mrs. J.L. Daugherty and Mrs. U.M. Prestridge all of Cheynne, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren and two great grand children, all of whom were present at the funeral; also one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Craig of Summersville, Missouri, and one brother, G.W. Hodges of Nashville, Tennessee. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon, June 4, 1931 at the Baptist church of this city, Rev. J.H. Bradley, pastor, preaching the sermon, and interment made in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Pall bearers weres Messrs. E.W. Carl, O.R. Prestridge, F.G. Brann, F.R. Blosser, W.M. Ballard and W.H. Pankey. Her absence will be keenly felt throughout the church and community as she was always ready to do her part most willingly and to greet everyone with a cheery smile, making life worth while to all who knew her.
