Simpson was born April 2, 1888 in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma and departed this life May 30, 1932, age 44 years, 1 month, and 27 days. On February 14, 1909 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Nix of Caddo, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born, Robert and Ethel both of Crawford who were with the mother at his bedside until death. He also leaves two grand daughters, Roberta Christine and Fleta May Simpson; two sisters and one brother, Jim Simpson of Roll, Mrs. Hattie Cole of Reydon and Mrs. Laura Davis of Palio, Oklahoma. Mr. Simpson had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church for the past 5 years. He was always found to be a faithful neighbor and a loyal and loving husband and father. Funeral services were held in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon in the presence of a host of friends, Rev. Wright officiaating and Tunnard's Funeral Home in charge. (Cheyenne Star June 8, 1932)
