She was born March 24, 1851, near Niagaria, N.Y., moved with her parents to Des Moines, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood, and married Harvy P. Handy. Mr. and Mrs. Handy came to Oklahoma about 20 years ago, when the country was new, and they helped to make western Oklahoma what it is today. there was born to this family 5 children, namely, Sadie Tiday of Weatherford, Okla., Frank Handy, of Joplin, Mo., and Minnie L. Blurton of Crawford and two that died in infancy. Mrs. Handy was converted when 18 years of age and lived a consistant Christian life to the end. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church of Crawford, by Rev. J.F. Curtis, and the remains laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery, near Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Good bye, Sister Handy, we miss you here but we would not have you return, for we know that you have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
