Surnames: Goodwin, Butler, Hughs Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/2592 Message Board Post: John Albert Goodwin was born May 24, 1853 at Plattsville, Wisconsin and departed this life at his home in Elk City, Oklahoma, April 3, 1929 at the age of 75 years 10 months and 9 days. Mr. Goodwin was married to Miss Larua A. Hughs, December 2, 1891. To this union four children were born: Walter A. of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Lily Mae Butler of Rankin, Oklahoma, Robert L. of Durham and J.A. Goodwin Jr. of Elk City, Oklahoma. The wife, four children, ten grandchildren and one brother, W.E. Goodwin of Haminston, Oregon, survive. Mr. Goodwin became a Christina in March, 1913, and joined the Broadway Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas. His passing is the only death that has occureed in this family throughout their thirty-eight years of married life. Funeral services were conducted in the School auditorium at Durham, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl V. Covey, minister of the First Christin church of Elk City officiating.
