She accepted Christ as her Savior in early youth and lived a devoted Christian life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. On September 20, 1892, at Neosho, Missouri, she was united in marriage to A.F. Wood. To this union eight children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.F. Wood, and one daughter, Mary Marie. She and her husband moved to Oklahoma and settled on a farmstead in Roger Mills County in May of 1905, and then she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Russell Drake, in Alamosa, Colorado. She is survived by three sons and four daughters, I.O. Wood, Oklahoma City, O.A. Wood, Amarillo, Texas, L.H. Wood, Reydon, Mrs. Mattie B. Mead, Torrance, California, Mrs. Sirrilda M. Drake of Alamosa, Colorado, Mrs. Ruby E. Isch, Reydon, and Mrs. Orpha D. Gifford, Midwest City, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held in the Dempsey school on Fr5iday, May 6, 1955 at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home.
