Maddux were held Thursday, November 28, 1957 Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Maddux died at Deligman, Arizona, on the train, en route home from California. She had been critically ill, suffering from cancer for the past six months. For the past six weeks she had been visiting her two daughters in California. Rubye L. Payne was born May 18, 19006 and had spent her life in Cheyenne. Immediate survivors are C.F. Maddux, Cheyenne, her husband, two daughters, Lavone (Mrs. Bob Dobry) and Lanita, both of Los Angeles, California and an 11 day old grandson, one sister, Elsie Gertrude Plunkett, Houston, Texas, and three brothers, Willie, Edgewood, California, Roy, Saratoga, California, and Richard of Sacramento, California and her mother, Mrs. Elsie Payne, Cheyenne. Services were in the Methodist church, Rev. Brodice Elkins, ulsa, preached the sermon. Rev. Gerald Main, pastor of the church assisted with the services. She was an active member of the Methodist church, the Eastern Star, the Platonic Club and other organizations. Committal was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
